What activities are available to do at The Stockmans?

We have a notice board with What’s On located at the office for you to check out what is happening for the duration of your stay. This will also have other information on what is happening within the area of Buchan, what the temperature is and if it is a day of Total Fire Ban.​

Do you have accessible facilities?

Please note that our property has limited accessibility features. Please contact us via thestockmanscamp@gmail.com to see if we can accommodate your requirements.​

Can I have a campfire?

Yes, however fires are strictly only permitted in the fire pits.

Fire pits: We have limited firepits available for hire. Cost is $20 for the duration of your stay.

However, we ask that you request these at the time of booking or at least 24 hours prior to your arrival.

Firewood can be purchased ($15 per bag) from the Office or you can bring your own.

Strictly no wood is to be collect from our property. (Also note that wood needs to be cut ready for use before arrival)​

What about children?

Please note our Child prices are applicable for children 16 years and under. All teenagers over 16 years are considered to be Adults. Supervision of children around our property is required and is the full responsibility of parents/guardians. As we have un-fenced dams, open fires on our property children should not be left unsupervised at anytime. The Stockmans Camp accepts NO responsibility for the safety of your children. Please note that any damage caused to our property by children is the financial responsibility of their parent/guardian.

What time do I have to check-in and check-out?

Standard check in time is 2pm on the day of arrival and the property is to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. An additional fee will be charged if you do not check out by 10am. Early arrivals and late check outs are at the discretion of Management and must be requested at the time of booking and can only be confirmed 1 day prior to arrival or departure. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate early arrivals and late departures, the only way to absolutely ensure an early check-in or late check-out is to book an extra night. 

What is expected of your guests in terms of cleaning/recycling?

Campsites and Cabins must be left in the condition they were in upon guest arrival.  Excess cleaning fees up to $200 may apply. (eg. rubbish not being removed, dishes not washed and put away, barbeques not cleaned.) We ask that rubbish and recycling from your accommodation site be placed in the correct bins located throughout the camp park.  Please dispose of items in the appropriately labelled bins, we strongly encourage recycling at our property.

What if you see or cause damage on our property?

Please report any existing damages to our cabins/caravan/common areas upon your arrival and immediately report any damage which occurs during your stay. Damage to our property is the financial responsibility of the guest.​

Can I have a party when staying overnight at The Stockmans Camp?

With management permission we do accept some small parties or group gatherings dependant on numbers. Please consult us at the time of booking as large noisy gatherings may disturb some other campers.​

Can I bring a generator to my campsite?

Generators can be used in our unpowered camp area but are to be strictly used only during the hours of 7am – 10pm for the consideration other campers.

Is there anything I should be aware of in respect of guest safety?

Please note there are un-fenced dams, open fires and off-limits areas (these areas are signed) within our property. No matter how strong a swimmer you are, strictly no swimming in dams. 

As previously mentioned, children are to be supervised in all areas of our property and their parent or guardian is solely responsible for their safety.

Please be aware particularly in the summer months that due to our location it is possible to sight snakes on our property. Please be aware and take care. We also recommend bringing repellent for mosquitoes; however repellent is available to buy on site if you have forgotten to bring your own.​

Is there anything I can pre-book for my stay?

Yes – You can pre-book into any of our Bush Heritage Shows or High-Country Tour. To book these please head to our Explore & Experience page to choose your options and pay online.

Do you have good mobile reception at The Stockmans Camp?

The Stockmans has full 4G Telstra mobile reception on our property, however other providers are patchy.​

Do you have WIFI available?

No

What is your payment policy?

All camping bookings need a deposit paid at time of booking with the remainder paid upon arrival.

Airbnb payment policies apply to all bookings for our Cabins.  Please note we accept both CASH and EFTPOS payments via VISA and Mastercard at The Stockmans for items purchased in the Office.​

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, we are a pet friendly park. However, they must be always contained either in a pen or on a lead, do not enter the amenities or camp kitchen, are not to be left alone and must be cleaned up after. This is for the safety of your pet and for your fellow campers. It is important that these guidelines are followed for if not, you may be asked to leave.

Please also be advised that if your pet is unwell before your arrival that we ask that you do not bring them, both for the safety of your pet and for the safety of our own pets.​​

Our boutique cabins are unfortunately not pet friendly in the Buchan Farm Stay Accommodation.

Where can I read the terms and conditions of staying at The Stockmans Camp?

To ensure you get the most out of your stay and enjoy the experience and everything our property has to offer we ask that you please read these TERMS AND CONDITIONS carefully.  When you make a booking, you accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. Guests accept and are held fully responsible for their visitors or children which may result in injury or harm when staying or visiting the property and its surrounds.​

What about water consumption while at The Stockmans Camp?

Water is a premium here and only supplied by the rain, so we ask you consider this when showering please. For this reason, also we ask that you do not use our property to fill up.​

*** What is the difference between Buchan Farm Stay Accommodation and The Stockmans Camp?

Both are on the same sprawling acres of magnificent high country in the shire of Buchan, Victoria. Buchan Farm Stay Accommodation encompasses our unique boutique country style cabins on the property. The Stockmans Camp is our Camp Park for tents and caravans. Adorned with beautiful gardens, lush green lawns and magnificent shade trees, The Stockmans Camp is a place to relax, unwind, return to nature and country living. Vast views of the rolling hills of the high country are a backdrop for the horses, sheep, cattle dogs and peacocks that roam the land. You’re welcome around our campfire any time.

What can I do when I stay with you?

Depending on the seasons and schedule, The Stockmans Camp may be offering our Bush Heritage Shows that provide a unique insight into the life and skills of the Australian Stockmen and Bushmen. Come and join our informative and educational storytelling, demonstrations and clever animal performances served up with scones and billy tea.
